EA Sports Active 2 on Kinect
Just completed my first workout on Active 2. I’m so embarrassed to say it kicked my butt, even moreso than the 1 hr Bar Method DVD and 1/2 hour Crunch Bootcamp DVD combined on Saturday night.
The coolest thing about this game is the heart rate monitor which is a good way to keep yourself motivated throughout the workout as you see your heart rate spike during the cardio activities. I’m a little bit unimpressed by the accuracy, especially during the cardio boxing activities where you have to change your stance and slow your hooks just to be detected. Also I could do without the running-in-place activities though I have to admit they were super tiring. It was pretty hard to get through the 1/2 hour but I’m going to stick with it for a little longer to see if it’s a good strength workout substitute. I’m having a little trouble getting even resistance on the resistance bands (never used them before) so I may substitute with light weights next time.
