Indulgent lunch after a 3-mile jog. The waffles were so airy and crispy, complemented perfectly with buttermilk fried chicken drizzles with chili honey sauce. Also tried the smoke salmon/cream cheese variety which was good but not extraordinary. Topped it all off with the creme brûlée waffle sandwich with crispy caramelized sugar. Tempted to go again tomorrow.
Breakfast: 85• savory pastry + carrot juice. Odd combination, I know.
I finally woke up feeling almost-normal, that nasty cold has whittled down to an itch in my throat. 6 days to go until Taiwan!
I’m off the clean shakes for now as they were impossible to stick through when you’re miserably sick. I’m eating bread again for now but we’ll see how the week progresses. :)
[Edit: I couldn’t eat more than three bites of the pastry. The cheese was overly greasy and I started feeling sick. That’s an interesting reaction.]
- Question from chinoisfemme: So has this resulted in weight loss? Do clothes fit better etc? Are you exercising? Inquiring minds want to know =)
- Answer: By eating mostly "clean" for two weeks I've lost about 5 pounds. Mostly it's water weight because my regular diet keeps me so bloated! So yes, clothes fit better but I always hit a plateau unless I add regular workouts. Right now I'm doing "light" workouts on the weekends to maintain but hoping to see a change once I get better about my eating and start a regular (more intense) workout on the weekdays! I just haven't figured out how to balance wellness with work stress, I don't know how you do it! :)
- Also looking forward to Paleo once I'm done with my clean detox! Esp with all your food pics and recipes...
Ooops
I had such a stressful day today that I completely FORGOT about my eating plan. As the day progressed I just started eating what I was given, luckily most of the food was clean appropriate.
Breakfast: Chocolate raspberry shake
Lunch: Half of a turkey, brie and cranberry sandwich on multi-grain bread and caesar salad
Snack: Almonds and cashews
Dinner: Fried chicken, grilled fish and Indonesian vegetable soto (stew) and brown rice
Dessert: Sliced mangoes
Mistakes: Multi-grain bread, dairy (both on sandwich and salad), vegetable oil and should be drinking a shake at dinner, not eating a full meal. I am also out of almond milk.
